Templates overview

Understand how Cordially templates define the editable structure and public rendering of a wedding website.

Overview

Templates define the structure, supported pages, editable sections, design options, and public rendering for a Cordially wedding website.

Key concepts

Signup offers starting designs based on the live wedding website demos featured on the homepage. These designs currently share the Origins template and editor, with different layouts, imagery, colors, and typography.

Template structure keeps the editor focused. Couples edit the fields a template supports, and Cordially renders a polished public site from that data.

How it works

The template determines:

  • available pages
  • section order and lock behavior
  • optional repeatable blocks, including curated interactive Map Guides
  • editable field metadata
  • supported palettes, typography, hero/envelope designs, and text targets
  • RSVP page structure
  • Save the Date formats and invitation sections
  • public rendering behavior

Notes and limitations

Starting design choices follow the featured website demos automatically. Save the Date letter designs are browsed and configured separately.

Map Guide blocks use author-positioned pins instead of place search. Their interactive maps load only when the map approaches the viewport and offer Cordially vector appearances plus the free Stamen Watercolor archive, while the grouped place cards remain available if map tiles cannot load.
